Take the first step
Martin Luther King said "You don’t have to see the whole staircase just take the first step"
Too many times we wait. We wait until we know enough. We wait until we have saved enough. We wait until the children are old enough.
STOP WAITING!!!
Take one step at a time. Set your goals so that you know what you are aiming for and be specific.
Life coaching can support you in achieving what you want in your life. As a life coach I support my clients in getting very clear on what they want for themselves. It is important to avoid drifting that you know where you are going, why you are going that way and when you want to get there!
Alot of times my clients feel as if they have no direction, or no purpose in life. This can cause feelings of apathy, insecurity and a general lack of wanting to do anything outside of the normal working pattern.
I know from my own life that recognising this and creating a vision based on my values made a huge difference to my life and how I felt about life.

What’s your thing?
What are you mad about? What do you love to collect, or see, or photograph? For me it is articulated lorries. The big 10 ton ones! The bigger the better in fact. My favourite has always been Eddie Stobart and a member of my breakfast group arranged for them to pick me up and take me round for an hour! How great was that!
Then on the day of my race for life, right at the end as I lay on the grass recovering and everyone else had left! Up pulled this huge articulated lorry. Lovely!!! My friend Barrie who was with me shouted the driver and asked if I could go for a ride and he said yes and drove me round the park a bit. Heaven!

I think the thing I love the most is the thought of getting in one of these huge things and just driving. For me they represent being carefree and on the road! I will never forget last year, in the middle of Ealing High Road, a truck driver stopped and asked me if I wanted to go with him! I actually had to stop myself from running across the road and getting in
So articulated lorries are my thing! What’s yours???
My Tesco Race for Life

I did it! My first ever charity race for Cancer Research and I completed it! How pleased with myself was I
5k – not particularly far. It took me 50 minutes in all and as I chose Hampstead Park alot of the 2-4k stretch was uphill! But I stayed focused, picked up a rhythm and just kept going.
At the beginning there was a minute silence for all those that had died from Cancer and my thoughts went to my friend Zoe who had always been trying to get me to take part in a charity fun run and I never did get round to it. That of course started me crying!
As I walked round it was amazing all the notices on people’s backs, photos, messages detailing why they were taking part in this race. That of course started me crying too!
The funniest thing was watching this young girl cheer us on between 2 and 3k. She must have been 7 or 8. "Come on you know you can do it" she shouted at the top of her voice "Keep going, you’re doing really well". Bless her heart!
So what’s next? Maybe the 10k. Who knows!

“what would a thrill, money can’t buy be for you?”

On my post "How do you occur in the world" I was left this powerful question and one that reminds me of all the things I have to be grateful for so please leave a comment and share with us what your thrills are.
"what would a thrill, money can’t buy be for you?"
When the universe hears your expression of gratitude you may just be granted with more (you never know who’s listening :0) )
Here are mine:
Love and laughter – from my children, friends, family
Hugs – I love giving and receiving hugs, they are just so great!!! :0)
Memories – of all the great times I have had in my life, and all the times that weren’t so great but have shaped who I have become.
The sea – I love the ocean and the feeling of comfort it brings
Making a difference – to the charitiable causes I support with my time, to young people, to friends and family who call on me
The sun – just the healing feeling that comes from taking in the sun rays and warm summer evenings sitting outside and listening to nature – especially if I am with other people.
Being able to see, walk, hear, talk, feel, breathe and type!

How do you occur in the world
If you want
to know how you occur in the world. How people see you. Then asking questions
is one of the best ways. The gold is in taking the answers and using them
as a way of improving on life and as a way to acknowledge what you have
achieved so far.
The thing to
remember when asking questions is that you need to allow people the freedom to
say whatever they want to, without you questioning what they mean, or defending
yourself. Just listening to their reply and making a note of it.
You also
have to bear in mind that people may have a story about you and their answers
will reflect that, so they may say something that for you is not true, or does
not resonate with you. If that happens then you put it to one side.
The trick is
to ensure that you have been totally honest with yourself!
These
questions can really let you know how people see you, they reflect your way of
"being" in the world. Below are the questions with some of the
answers I have received so far (I have completed 7 interviews to date).

my strengths?
Determined, loyal, flexibility, integrity, honesty, funny, self sustaining
single mum!, passionate, creative, open and sharing, caring, good listener,
generous, reliable, kind, compassionate
2) What are
my challenges?
Don’t always
finish what I start, stubborn, easily hurt, stand offish! easily led,

I best known for?
Wanting to
make a difference, being supportive, being loyal, never forgetting, patience.
6) What
talent or ability do I have that I’m not using?
Can’t remember getting a straight answer to this one. It was more about what I
could do more of that I am already doing. One friend did say my
speaking/presenter skills
