Where do the days go?

I just can’t seem to keep up with everything. Being on the internet full time means I am never away from my computer and I question sometimes whether I should just go get myself a job, work for a few hours, come home and watch TV before doing it all again.  But then I know I could never live with that for too long.

11 years of being self employed and always having to go out there and find my salary rather than just having it appear in my personal account is beginning to really get to me. Even on the internet there is still a need to find people to buy your product, take up your service, sign up for your newsletter.

It’s just constant and non stop! I’ve given up on the rich man who’s going to rescue me and know that I truly am the only one who is going to make this work but I really am very tired…..

Leaving my car behind

Last year I thought about selling my car and not driving for a while to see how I would cope. I have been driving since I was 17 years old and I am now 41 which is 24 years!

It’s gotten to the point now where if I want something from the shop around the corner I will jump in the car. My 16 year old daughter has been in a car being taken to school since she was 5 years old and is a little lazy when it comes to walking.

When I mentioned it to Lauretta she said it was a bad idea and I guess being lazy I decided it was too!

But now I’ve done it and Lauretta won’t know until she reads this that I have (hehe!) so she will probably ring me up and cuss me for making out it was her fault I didn’t….!

Of course I know I have complete and utter responsibility for every action I take so I spoke to the kids on Monday and I am not going to sell the car but I will be cancelling the insurance due on April 28th, not renewing my M.O.T. (what does M.O.T. even stand for…???) that runs out in May and not renewing the car tax which ends in June.

I took out my insurance details today to cancel it and panicked… so I’ll leave that until tomorrow I think

Sad News Today

Someone in one of the networks I belong to lost her brother 2 days ago. Shot in the back 3 times by a US Marshal at the age of only 18. Another young black man loses his life and it’s so very tragic.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family at this time.

Does User-Generated Content Make Money?

A new report written by Paul Verna, eMarketer Senior Analyst is raising questions about user-generated content and it’s ability to make money. eMarketer has already projected that the number of US user-generated content creators will rise from 77 million in 2007 to 108 million in 2012 and that’s just for the USA alone.

One of the easiests ways that many internet marketers make money online is through user-generated content on their blogs and in articles that promotes and/or reviews a particular product. Their affiliate link is embedded into their review and they earn an income from people reading the review and clicking on their link to take a look at and hopefully buy the product so it certainly works in the internet marketing arena. This has been and still is a popular way to earn an income online.

However it seems that user generated content is not as popular in other areas and advertisers are reluctant to add their brand to the unpredictable world of content generated in this way.

Multiple mastermind group participation

I truly believe that if you want to be successful you should include yourself in a mastermind group - a group of people who all come together to share goals, help each other achieving and provide support.

But I don’t believe you need to be in more than one group. In fact I believe that when you are it’s impossible to be dedicated because you are spreading yourself across two groups.

I’d like to hear from anyone who has experienced great results as a result of being in more than one mastermind group.

So I am taking the position of being FOR people only being in one mastermind group. Anyone AGAINST that? Let’s see if we can get a debate going.

What Do You Think About Social Networking Etiquette?

There are so many social networks available now and people use them for different reasons.

• Some people know that they want to sell their products/services
• Others want to meet people and build relationships
• A number of people want to promote their events

And of course the majority want to do all three of those things in various combinations!

But how do you get started? Is it best to sit back and read posts before taking part, is the right way to dive straight in and start blogging and adding friends, or should you just start promoting as soon as you join?
