Reason to Under Achieve No. 6 – Lack of Support from a Mastermind Alliance
August 26, 2008 by DianeCorriette · 1 Comment
One of the reasons I decided to train as a Life Coach was because of the way it moved me towards my goal so quickly. The other was the support it provided. When my sessions ended once again I found myself “on my own”
When you set big goals for yourself you need support to help you achieve them. As I mentioned earlier you will have the nay sayers lining up to tell you why something won’t work, but what you need is positive, affirming support.
Mastermind Groups or Mastermind Alliances as they are sometimes known is one of the best ways. This group will be a network of people who see more in you than you see in yourself. They will be big thinkers, supporters, like minded people that you can rely on to hold up the highest vision of who you are.
The question here is “Where can I find an alliance that will support me in achieving my dreams?”
What happens in a mastermind alliance will vary, some groups contain people from different professions who come together to offer their expertise to each other.
Some groups will support and promote each others businesses, others will create a project together and some may do all of those or none of them!
How your group works and what it does is ultimately down to the group. The most important thing to remember is that dreams are not achieved alone. Even if you work alone it is important to your business that you have contact with others if you intend to make money!
Knowing that you have your own alliance that is available to you whenever you find yourself in need of motivation, or experiencing a challenge, or when you just want to share a success is an important and worthwhile investment of your time.
It truly is my light not my darkness that most frightens me!
August 24, 2008 by DianeCorriette · 1 Comment
I have spent the last 2.5 years using the internet to build online businesses because I wanted to build something that would provide passive income but my try love is personal development and writing.
In the book “The Life You Were Born To Live” by Dan Millman my date of birth provides me with a life purpose number which is 29/11
So my life path is all about
2 = creating balance in my life (learning to say no and not trying to please everyone)
9 = living a life of higher wisdom and integrity that inspires others by example
1 = creativity and confidence (bringing positive creative energy in the world)
Life numbers (like numerology) go up to 10 so an 11 is a master number and means I have double the effect.
Not only do I have a double helping of creativity and confidence in my life, not only do I have the ability to bring positive creative energy into the world, but I also have a double helping of doubt, insecurity and fear.
When describing myself I often say I am deeply insecure with moments of brilliance and I sway from one to another depending on how life is going.
From 2006 – 2008 I forgot myself spirituality and have been living in my head trying to plan my life and spending way to much time “doing” and no “being”. I’ve failed miserably.
Now in the depths of despair I have been reminded of my natural leadership and need to connect to spirit AT ALL TIMES. I have spent the whole of August looking at the direction my life is taking and My Higher Power is in charge again. I have surrendered my will to being guided and making heart decisions – but who knows how long it will be before I stray again! This is the journey called My Life
I will spend it swaying from insecurity to moments of brilliance and my aim now is to spend more time experiencing and sharing moments of brilliance with the world.
It truly is my light not my darkness that most frightens me!
Reason to Under Achieve No. 5 – People Won’t Like Me!
August 21, 2008 by DianeCorriette · Leave a Comment
Actually with this reason you are absolutely right. People won’t like you. Especially the people you leave behind; still stuck, still too afraid to change their circumstances. Still believing that their ultimate success is at the mercy of other people, that the only way they can be successful is if someone else makes it happen.
Celebrate! You neither want nor need these people to like you! Along the road to whatever success is for you, you will meet people just like you. Its all about attraction – like attracts like! Stop concerning yourself with people who have no ambition. Okay, you have known them for the last 20 years, I understanding that, but if they have no inclination to support you why would you want that in your life?
Change in itself is scary, and sometimes the familiar can help us to feel that we still have something that hasn’t changed. An old friend that you can still engage in your old ways with, but eventually you will realise that all you are doing is stunting your growth. I did!
The question here is “Are you ready to choose? Put your hands out palms upward. You have – “people that like you but are not supportive” in one palm and – “living your wildest dreams based on what makes you happy” in your other palm. Now choose!
There will always be “haters” as the rappers like to call them. There will always be those people who get upset because you have “left them behind” or because “you think you are better than they are.” It is a big part of the life of a successful person, having people that dislike them for it.
But, here’s the thing, what other people think of you is NONE of your business! (Go ahead and read that againJ). Let them talk, let them criticise, they hurt no one but themselves when they engage in these activities. Just keep your focus on where you are and where you want to be.

Reason to Under Achieve No. 4 – Believing In Failure!
August 19, 2008 by DianeCorriette · Leave a Comment
It really is so easy to be stopped by the very thought of failure, but not just any kind of failure, public failure!
Let’s face it, we could all go for our dream if we knew that we will be the only person to know if we failed! But when we step out and announce that we are going to achieve something big many people will be ready in the hopeful anticipation of watching us mess up!
But things are changing. More and more people are recognising their mistakes and their failures as nothing more than another step towards success. They realise that they have found a way that doesn’t work and can move forward to find one that does.
More and more people are recognising their mistakes and their failures as nothing more than an opportunity to grow, because it meant you put yourself out there. Okay things didn’t go to plan, but you can learn from what didn’t work.
I celebrated when I made my first property “cock up!” (Excuse the English expression!) Why? Because now I didn’t have to worry about making a mistake!
I have made one, I can relax, its all plain sailing from here. Okay I was left with a little matter of having to find £8k ($16,000) in 3 days, but hey, who cares! I was too busy celebrating that I messed up!!!!
The question here is “What learning opportunity(ies) have my mistakes and/or failures given me?”
If you are telling yourself that you failed then celebrate, because most of the high achievers you will read about have. Go and pick up a few auto biographies of people you admire, people who are where you want to be. Read their story, and if you don’t find a section where they made a mistake, lost money or failed then let me know because I will want to read it myself! ?

Reason to Under Achieve No. 3 – Goal Setting (or lack of!)
August 13, 2008 by DianeCorriette · Leave a Comment
Its easy to set a goal that you know is a sure thing. It’s much more challenging to set a goal that you have no idea of how you are going to achieve it.
The great thing about connecting your life to a higher purpose and being guided towards setting your goals is that you will have help in achieving them. Some of my best achieved goals are the ones I create from intuition based on my passion.
Many people set low goals, goals that don’t challenge them, or they set the wrong goal, goals that they do not enjoy or are not bothered whether they achieve or not.
And then there are many who set no goals at all, they drift though life always “gonna” do something but never getting round to it.
The question here is “What Goals did I set out to achieve and how much did I grow and develop as a result?”
Recognise where your goal could have been bigger, recognise where you didn’t try as hard as you could have, congratulate yourself on your success and look at how you will challenge yourself in the coming 12 months!
Whether you like the word “goal” or not is irrelevant, don’t get bogged down in semantics, recognise it as another way to avoid actually setting them.
Figure out what you want to do with your life, make it big, make it bold. When you write it out it should leave you excited and scared all at the same time. That’s when you know you have hit the right target!

Reason to Under Achieve No. 2 – Bored but Secure VS Excited but Risky

Reason to Under Achieve No. 2 – Bored but Secure VS Excited but Risky
For many the status quo is better than “not knowing” even though they are bored out of their minds! They live in a fantasy world where apparent “security” keeps them stuck in a job they hate, afraid to move on and achieve more.
Wanting to achieve something involves risk. Whilst you can set goals and plan you never know the outcome until you get there. But the whole point is not to spend all your time focused on the end results, but instead to enjoy the journey of working towards your end result.
To enjoy the challenges and the successes, to delight in your own personal development as you reflect and realise just how different you have become. If you are heading towards a goal right now please take your eyes off the end target and enjoy where you are right now, today – even if the situation is a challenging one.
The question here is “What are you going to do to ensure that next year is your best year ever?”
For those of you living a life of “security” allow me to bust your bubble. Firstly, you want more I can guarantee you that otherwise you would not be reading this now.
Secondly, nothing is secure. Marriages fail, jobs are lost, people leave. The only secure thing we can definitely say is coming our way is death ?
Isn’t it time for something more than just the same ole, same ole, status quo?
Reasons To Underachieve No 1 – Negative Thinking

Reason to Under Achieve No. 1 – Negative Thinking
It may be no surprise to hear that one! Your life is built on your self image and that image will depend on what you tell yourself. But it’s not just you!
There will be plenty of people in your life too all ready, willing and eager to spread the doom and gloom over why things just won’t work. Or why you are just not capable of achieving what you hope to. Unfortunately family and friends can be the worst culprits! They will always willingly let you know why you will fail. Why it won’t work out.
But negative messages from other people can only affect you if you allow them to. Learn to brush them off. It’s time to become stronger about who you are and what you stand for.
The question here is “Are you going to allow what people say to stop you from taking action?”
Is the opinion of others more important than the opinion you hold of yourself? Are you ready to tackle the negative thinking that goes on in your head (here’s a tip! If you hear yourself thinking negative talks just shout – either out loud or in your head – “cancel” and then turn it round to something more affirming)
Thinking bigger, wanting more, working towards achievement can make you a target for negative messages from your co-workers, family, friends and even total strangers because most people like the status quo.
But when you have a strong conviction within yourself, when you work towards ensuring all your thoughts empower you rather than dis-empower you, then you will be going some way towards transforming how you think and feel.
What you think about yourself will determine whether you are a success or whether you give up. Begin the journey of thinking great things about who you are and what you can achieve.
