A definite reason if not a season

Sep 6, 2008 by

I recently met up with a man who found me online. He had seen my profile in an online dating site I joined years ago and never really did anything with (still need to go in and delete myself!) and as I wasn’t active on the site he did a little digging and found me. He even joined Twitter to connect with me!

That was alot of effort just to meet someone and we met for lunch and had a great afternoon chatting.

I never heard from him again (and its my policy to never chase!) but that afternoon reminded me that it was a long time since I had allowed myself to just have fun and enjoy the company of another man. Since giving up the man I considered to be the love of my life (and there’s nothing harder than having to give that up!) I had buried myself in work for the last 2 years and it was time to stop doing that.

So I joined match.com and am going to see what happens there plus I’m going out alot more and getting loads of attention when I do. The new, supportive, brilliantly creative, abundant thinking man in my life is just around the corner.

I never once questioned why this man didn’t call me because I believe in the “reason, season, lifetime” philosopy that people come in and out of your life either for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When someone leaves your life rather than question why and make it mean something about you, you can just wish them well and take a look at the lesson within the event.

My lesson was definitely God saying to me “it’s time to get yourself out there girl!”

And “getting myself out there” is exactly what i’ve been busy doing :-)

About Diane Corriette

I write on this self development blog about building self confidence, and living a life of full self expression where you are free to be you. Being able to be confident is not so much about how you think but what you feel. To successfully build self confidence you must use your thoughts to create an image of who you want to be, and your emotions to help you feel this amazing new you and then visualise & focus on it until it becomes your reality.
