Focus on building self confidence at any age | Self Confidence building for women

Because it’s never too late to start

My focus on self confidence has led me down an interesting path lately that I am happy to follow. Since 2008 I have been writing and talking about publishing a book that I have just never gotten round to finishing.

Focusing on reconnecting to a passion we once had but that is still unfulfilled I even ran a workshop October last year. Despite letting other work matters get in the way (I focus more on helping people use the internet to promote their business) I keep getting drawn back to the idea – which I believe happens when God has a plan for you that you are not following!

In the space of the last few days I have reconnected with the idea  and watching Hayley’s video yesterday seemed to spark something in me to revisit it with a new title. I fell in love with the idea all over again and became excited by the thought of writing it.  I will share more soon but I am definitely going for it now….. DEFINITELY!

  • I am currently on a 12 week program that focuses on how to launch a product – so am using that time to focus my attention on how to promote it
  • I have been invited to speak by two women, one in Australia and one here in the UK and both will give me an opportunity to focus on talking about the book
  • Being told by someone how at ease I look with myself reminded me that this is something I can share with other women
  • Hayley’s video – not sure what it was but watching it sparked a desire to start writing this book again

So I am going to commit to making this work. I have been speaking to women and need to go out on the High Street with clipboard in hand to do some market research, which I will do tomorrow (Sunday)

Today I found out about Lorna Page, a woman who published her first book in 2008 called “A Dangerous Weakness” at the age of 93! She uses the proceeds to pay for the house she lives in with friends, it is her way of helping her friends out of care homes and into a more welcome space.

You can read the story here on the Telegraph

I found the book on Amazon and while the reviews aren’t great I am a sucker for a good cause and would buy it anyway because her ambition to help people get out of care homes is a great one – although to be honest why our elder generation can’t be treated better I really don’t know.

As far as I am concerned Lorna has done something many people never get round to doing – she achieved something she set out to achieve. That’s more than enough for me to make her a hit.

About Diane Corriette

I write on this self development blog about building self confidence, and living a life of full self expression where you are free to be you. Being able to be confident is not so much about how you think but what you feel. To successfully build self confidence you must use your thoughts to create an image of who you want to be, and your emotions to help you feel this amazing new you and then visualise & focus on it until it becomes your reality.

  3. Good for Lorna writing a book at 93 is such an amazing achievement and it really is a shame that she has to do that because as a society we are not caring enough for people in their older years
