Discovering Greatness in my business
My mentor tells me I need to learn to focus and he is right! I am distracted way too easily! I turned on my computer to start recording audios for my new online site "getting more confident" and a quick conversation has me here at my blog typing up something I must get out of my head so it will leave me in peace!
At least I know who is boss! When my unconcious mind decides it wants to share something it will not leave my head until I get it down on paper. Anyway, back to the point……….
I was asked this morning how being conciously aware of Discovering Greatness had impacted my business, and my first thought was, well I am my business (only because I run my business, I realise on a deeper level that I am NOT my business, or my body, or my gender etc etc….!)
My business and I are not separate, everything I do in my business is a reflection of my values and beliefs.
What I find is that who I am in my personal life will also be the same in my professional life. Let me explain! If I had an issue with saying no to people then this would not only happen in my personal life,(e.g. not being able to say no to family), but it will also happen in my work life, (e.g. not being able to say no to my boss.)
Everything I have talked about as it relates to Discovering Greatness in my personal life also relates to my professional life too. So my post about "Greatness in the face of fear" relates to my professional life because I work with communities within inner city areas where money is tight and survival is the need that many aim to fulfil. So to walk into a room full of people from a community estate and tell them that they create their own reality through their thoughts requires some level of discovering greatness in myself!!!
Also my work with young people centres around developing their sense of SELF, raising their confidence and building their aspirational beliefs in their ability to achieve.
Now my angle with parents is "Raise your confidence and you will produce confident children". So when I talk to parents I say "if your child has no confidence it is because you have none and you need to look towards transforming that so that your child can grow up with a high level of self-worth, because children learn all they know from the adults in their life"
Now the interpretation of that is "if your child has no confidence it is because you dont and so it is your fault". Which is absolutely what I am saying, just not in that way
I then need to have the "blame" conversation and what a waste of energy it is. I reinforce the "facts"! This is how it is, sort it, or don’t the choice is yours!
I can only talk this way because I discover greatness in people, the difference is, now that I am conciously aware of me discovering my own greatness I can now stand in front of that crowd and realise that whether people agree or not does not have to affect how great I feel about myself.
Audience reaction will usually perk and motivate me, or leave me feeling drained. It no longer has to have that effect. As I stand there discovering my greatness and the greatness of those in the room my way of "being" changes, I no longer have to defend my position, I can look at all those who go on the defensive as having greatness within them and support them in recognising that rather than defend myself against what they have just said.
So discovering greatness is more about a way of "being" for me. Who am I "being" when I stand in front of a room full of people. I now realise that I have been wanting to be right and defensive. I am happy when my audience is, and drained when my audience is not.
Contrast that to just opening myself up to "being" greatness and the empahsis shifts from having to "do" loads of stuff (defend, be right etc) to just focusing on being passionate about something I believe in. The development of young women into confident beings full of self-worth.
Now that is a profound paradigm shift for me! Now back to my audios……..
Do you want to know the secret to becoming unstoppable? - it's all about building self

This sounds really great. I’ve been working with Judith Germain on my n-code. Is this who has been helping you?
I’ll be blogging more about this at http://seeingthecode.blogspot.com/.
