Altogether Fabulous isn’t something you work towards it is something you are

Being altogether fabulous is something you are right now. Only we don’t always recognise how fabulous we are – choosing instead to recognize what is wrong with us and our life. So I want you to know that you are already altogether fabulous and now all we have to do is remove all the fears, obstacles, guilt, doubts and other limits in your way so that the altogether fabulous you shines through.

When will you know you are there? When you decide you are. When you decide that you are living a life you love and you are happy with who you are.  That doesn’t mean problems don’t ever come your way or things won’t go wrong – the truth is on the altogether fabulous journey of life things “go wrong” more than normal because we are always being given an opportunity to be the best that we can be.

Being altogether fabulous isn’t something you work towards it is something you are. Problems become a blessing because they teach you something about yourself that you can transform so that it is no longer an issue for you.  Embracing problems on your altogether fabulous journey is something I recommend you learn how to do – it may not happen overnight (and then again it just might) and you will need to work towards looking at life in a totally different way.

To change your life is a choice

If you are thinking about changing your life then nothing happens until you stop thinking about it and actually set the intention to do it because to change your life is a choice you have to make to begin.

I knew I wanted to change my life for years before I managed to get round to taking that first step and doing it. It is amazing how long I tolerated not being happy and not living a great life. Sometimes I get a little annoyed with myself when I think about the years I wasted hating the way I looked instead of enjoying life. Sometimes I wonder if I should write for all the teenagers out there as much as for my fellow middle aged woman!

Getting annoyed about the past doesn’t help and it definitely robs me of my altogether fabulous aura and shuts down my spiritual connection with my soul. So I allow myself to be frustrated because I don’t believe there is any point in just dismissing it, but I only allow myself minutes now. When I first started on this journey I would allow myself a week or two, then a few days, then a day, then hours, now it is minutes. That’s progress!

Once I made the decision to stop focusing on the past (because the best way to stop living in the past is to just simply decide to stop) and bring myself back to the present moment I can go back to appreciating my life right now.

What you will also find is once you set your intention to change your life the universe will work with you and support you in making the transition but sending lessons, challenges, obstacles and open doors your way – each one has its lessons to learn whether a chance opportunity supplies you with a new job or you lose your job forcing you to change. Believe it or not both those events are wonderful….. from the altogether fabulous perspective anyway! :)

I made the choice to change my life and it was a great choice to make because it made me happy – and when we are happy life is so much more fun to live through.

Know why you want to live your dream

Have you ever longed for something and then when you get it, it is nothing like you expected? Dorothy longed to be over the rainbow and of course when she made the trip she decided “there was no place like home”

So many of us long for a dream to come true and when it does we still continue to wish that life was different.  If you want to live your dream AND love your life then you need to know why you want to live your dream.

It is easy to think that you really want something

“I want to be rich”

“I want to be married”

“I want to start my own business”

“I want to learn French”

“I want to lose weight”

We dream of what life will be like when we achieve it but most people don’t consider why they want something.

We spend time working towards something believing the fulfillment of it will be enough but what we are truly searching for is something far deeper and if we stop and think about what that is we can enjoy our achievement once it happens or realise that it isn’t something we truly want after all.

Being rich means you never have to worry about paying the bills and can be at peace and happy. Or so you think. But more money usually brings other challenges and more often than not more problems. Ask anyone that won the lottery and suddenly found themselves with millions!
What you think will be the end of your problems can sometimes just be the beginning of them.

Also if thinking that money will bring peace and happiness why not enjoy those right now in this present moment before earning loads of money.

I spent years working towards completing an MBA that I thought I wanted. When I looked at why I wanted it I realized it was to prove to people (and myself) I was intelligent – it had nothing to do with really wanting to live a dream but more to do with proving something. Achieving the qualification will never have made me happy because what I really needed to work on was understanding that I am okay as I am.

In an effort to live your dream and love your life it is really important that you know why you want to live your dream so you don’t spend years working towards something you don’t really want or you don’t end up achieving it only to find you are not satisfied. Spend time writing in your “All Fab Journal” about why you want what you want and what you believe it will give you. You might surprise yourself.
