The a-z or building self confidence

I am in the middle of writing a self confidence guide and was going through this a-z section so thought I would add it here.

A.    Ask yourself questions. Building self confidence is all about knowing why you do the things you do and the only way to know that is to ask.

B.    Believe in your self, and in what you can do. If you don’t who will. If you can’t believe in yourself first work towards not DISBELIEVING.

C.    Catch yourself in moments of doubt. To begin to reverse your lack of self confidence and begin building self confidence you need to catch yourself in those moments when you are not thinking good things about yourself.

D.    Don’t give in and don’t give up. Thomas Edison failed once, twice, more than thrice before he came up with his invention and perfected the incandescent light bulb. Make building self confidence a high priority and never give up.

E.    Enjoy the process. There are going to be days when building self confidence may seem like hard work. Change your perspective and see challenging days as another day to work through. Forgive yourself if you beat yourself up over something and move on by resolving to do things differently next time.

F.    Family and Friends are life’s greatest treasures. Involve them in your desire to build your self confidence. The people who truly love you will want to see you succeed.

G.    Give more than you receive. Where does confidence building take place at work? At home? At school? When you exert extra effort in doing things you find your self confidence will raise naturally.

H.    Hang on to your dreams. They may dangle in there for a moment, but these little stars will be your driving force.

I.    Ignore those who try to put you down. Don’t let other people to get the best of you. Stay away from toxic people – the kind of friends who hate to hear about your success with confidence building.

J.    Just be yourself. The key to success is to be yourself and the key to failure is to try to please everyone.

K.    Keep building self confidence no matter how hard life may seem.
When a person is really determined to build self confidence eventually they will see their life transform as they work their way towards experiencing what they desire.

L.    Learn to love your self. Now isn’t that easy?

M.    Make things happen. Building your self confidence becomes easier as you begin to make things happen, the more things go well for you the more confident you feel about taking on new things

N.    Never lie, cheat, gossip or steal. These things rob you of your self confidence and leave you feeling spiritually low.  If you are doing any of them right now resolve to stop and find a more positive way to live. Remember this is a journey. You had to know who you don’t want to be in order to work towards who you do.

O.    Open your mind to what’s possible. In order to build self confidence you must open your mind to what is possible when you are confident. This will excite you and create a real desire to begin building self confidence in yourself.

P.    Practice makes perfect. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will your self confidence. Keep at it, practise the “fake it till you make it” building self confidence methods and the more you pretend the more you begin to believe yourself. It worked wonders for me. Always remember when you walk into a room of people who do not know you they do not know you are shy or that you lack self confidence. So stop behaving that way and show them something different.

Q.    Quitters never win. And winners never quit. So, choose your fate – are you going to be a quitter? Or a winner?

R.    Ready yourself. Building self confidence is going to take commitment and motivation so get ready and be prepared.  Begin building your self confidence from the inside so that it radiates on the outside and believe in the end outcome.  Remember, it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.

S.    Stop procrastinating! Confidence comes from getting things done and experiencing the satisfaction of knowing you completed something. Procrastination is a self confidence killer most of the times. Learn the difference between when you are reflecting and when you are procrastinating because reflection is important.

T.    Take control of your life. Discipline is an important part of confidence building.  Understand that you have the power to make a change in your life and go for it.

U.    Understand others. We all know how to talk but as you begin building self confidence it is important you also learn how to listen because you will be able to gain information about yourself and the people around you only when you take the time to stop and listen.  Resolve to understand first, and to be understood second.

V.    Visualize it. Self confidence without vision is like a boat on a dry land. See yourself being happy and confident, feel it, desire it and you will achieve it.

W.    Want it more than anything. If you really want to experience a life of full self expression and confidence you have to feel the desire for it inside you. You need to eat, breathe,  and sleep your desire to build self confidence.

X.    Xpect the best. When you expect great things to happen and they do you will find this is a real boost to your self confidence so stop focusing on what could go wrong or why something won’t work and expect the best for yourself and your life.

Y.    You are unique. We are all uniquely different people so don’t look at someone and wish you had confidence that they do, instead build confidence that fits into who you are and what works in your life.  Wishing you were someone else is a complete waste of energy. Enjoy being you because you are unique and no one can do it like you can. Value your life and appreciate your existence.

Z.    Zero in on your dreams and go for it!!!
