What is self confidence
When I first started looking into building self confidence I used to ask myself “what is self confidence and how will I know when I have it?” – to be it was this elusive thing that I could never experience because I was so full of negativity and fear.
It took me a long time to realise that like the definition for success or even happiness self confidence is something I needed to define for myself rather than rely on another person’s interpretation of what it is.
So, with that in mind I created a video that asks and answers the question “what is self confidence?” from my interpretation of it. What I have decided confidence is to me.
Do you have a different way of looking at self confidence? If you do I would love to know what it is – you can share it in the comments below.
About Diane Corriette
I write on this self development blog about building self confidence, and living a life of full self expression where you are free to be you. Being able to be confident is not so much about how you think but what you feel. To successfully build self confidence you must use your thoughts to create an image of who you want to be, and your emotions to help you feel this amazing new you and then visualise & focus on it until it becomes your reality.

I just want to be able to go out and live without being afraid all the time. Afraid of people and things because it stops me living and life is too short to spend it hiding
For me confidence is feeling good in myself and knowing that I can do things and make decisions that work for me. Not that I do things without thinking of others but I have had to learn that sometimes you have to think about what is best for you too.
I have never really stopped to think about what it means to me so will have to give it some thought. My first idea is self confidence is something that uplifts me.
Waking up and knowing that no matter what happens I can handle it is what I would love self confidence to mean for me. I am still working on that one.
