When you have a day of incredible happiness and sadness what do you focus on?

It’s been a funny ole day! I’m alot better than I was (It seems the sore throat, fever, flu thing is everywhere in the UK right now!) I had a serious conversation about book publishing (but dont want to say more than that right now!). Someone made an offer on my house (although there is PLENTY of room for improvement on it!!) I ended a relationship that was more draining than uplifting and I am definitely moving away from Women Internet Marketers and closing it all down to focus on writing in the area of personal growth.happiness and sadness

A day of happy events and a sad one so what do I focus on? The answer is none of those….

Firstly it would be easy to focus on the negative because as humans that’s what we are naturally inclined to do but it’s much better to see the whole day for what it is…. one day in my life. Nothing good about it and nothing bad. It just is!

I can celebrate and be thankful for everything that has happened because it all happens for a reason and as long as I learn a lesson from it then I will continue to grow.

I was once told that the only difference between success and failure is learning. As long as you learn a lesson from what has happened you will always continue to be successful. Once you stop learning lessons or if you never bother to look for them then you remain stuck and never grow.

We are all capable of doing very stupid things and making very huge mistakes so that also makes us capable of learning from them and making a fresh start (My fresh start from my stupid mistakes started 28th November 2008!). So what that means is there is hope for us all :)

Hindsight is a wonderful tool. It will take you back and make you look at what you did wrong. It will make you wish that you didn’t do that one thing, or say that last word, or spend that last lot of savings the way you did and if you could only have your time again…. if you could only go back and change it you just wouldn’t do the same thing.

Well, chances are you probably would… because the whole thing was set up so that you learn a lesson so don’t beat yourself up too much (talking from experience here :) ) just know that it’s all part of the process.

As long as we continue to learn our future can only get better so our mistakes are actually a great tool to help us get to where we want to be. Our mistakes are an important part of our ultimate success.

What would be really stupid is making the same mistake twice :)

Willie Jolley (yes that is his real name) has a great video in the Success University library called “A setback is a setup for a comeback” – I’ve watched it 3 times now. He’s funny and he helped me see that I was just being setup for a comeback…… I love it. If you’re serious about your personal growth take a good look at Success University – it’s worth investing in your own development because no one is more important than you http://expand.successuniversity.com

You know Diane, I have a ritual, that I do daily. I don’t know if you like gospel music, but it something uplifting in the sound for me. I don’t listen to it all day, but when I need some pick me up juice, I will play the music on my blackberry, put my headphones on and just check out for a moment. Because life is life, there are ups and there are downs. It’s not about the ride, but how you handle the ride. Keep your head up sistah, and stay strong.

    Yours in spirit,

    LaTease

    Hi there Diane,

Thankyou for sharing and for being brave enough to do so! You have worn your heart on sleeve – someting many of us would not risk – you have been honest about your life lessons and you have changed direction when needed but have not lost your core dream and ambition. I have no doubt that you are wiser, I know that the last year for me has been yet another year of learning and increased wisdom, and some of that learning has come from my mistakes – as always –

My wish for us all is that we continue to grow and that we don’t give up! Thanks for the WIM site and all the other great things you have put out here – you’ve inspired a lot of people believe me! I have a feeling that your intended focus on writing and personal development is the way forward for you – but I also guess that if great opportunities present themselves you need to have your eyes open to see them.

All the very best for the future and keep on writing!

Sylvia (A sista and believer in personal growth & development )

Thanks LaTease. I remember years ago a series of Ali Beal where her therapist told her to find a song that she played in her head to keep herself upbeat. Since then I have had music to “dance it out” to…. just shake my booty at home and play it loud plus music to play in my head and it works really well when you are feeling down. Having said that I am not really sad at all and am filled with a huge amount of joy and serenity – which is why I wrote this post. I didnt focus on the happy events or the sad ones. Right now my life seems to be in a constant state of “knowingness” even though I know nothing and have no idea where I am going next LOL :)

Continuing to grow and never giving up is definitely my motto and thank you for your comment Sylvia. Its my intention to always share honestly and from the heart so when the road of life gets bumpy I will share that and when abundance rains I will share that too.

Good luck with your own journey my sista :)
