Counter Intentions That Hold You Back: Name the Belief, Free Your Action

Thanks, for sharing:
I want to talk to you today about something quiet that holds a lot of power, those inner blocks we do not always see the ones that show up as hesitation, doubt, or just feeling stuck.
They are called counter-intentions and they can quietly sabotage everything you say you want without you even realising it.
You might say you want more confidence.
To speak up.
To apply for that job.
To finally do the thing you keep putting off.
But then, without meaning to, you shrink.
You scroll instead.
You talk yourself out of it.
You tell yourself it’s not the right time.
That’s a counter-intention. It’s your internal ‘no’ when your heart says ‘yes.’
And it often comes from old beliefs:
"I’m not good enough."
"It’s too late for me."
"I’ll just fail anyway."
You’re not broken for having these thoughts.
You’re human.
But here’s what I want you to know - you don’t need to fix every limiting belief before you can move forward. You just need to see it. To name it. And to ask, “Where did this come from… and do I still want to carry it?”
Sometimes, all it takes is awareness to weaken its grip.
Here’s a tiny shift you can try:
Instead of forcing belief, just refuse to disbelieve.
You don’t have to feel 100% sure. Just… stop telling yourself it’s impossible.
Even a mustard seed of belief, a flicker, is enough to start.
And when that old voice shows up, saying “Who do you think you are?”
You answer with action.
You show up anyway.
Not perfectly. Just honestly.
You don’t have to fight with yourself.
You just have to decide which part of you gets to lead.
And if that still feels hard… chunk it down.
One small act of courage today.
That’s it.
You’re not lost.
You’re not too late.
You’re just in the process of coming back to yourself one brave choice at a time.
