What I Do Instead of Watching Ads

Thanks, for sharing:
I never watch TV ads. Not because I hate them - though I do not miss them - but because I use that time differently.
I wait until I am watching a TV show or a movie is on. Then, when the adverts appear, I get up and do something small. If the dishes are stacked high, I wash three or four things. By the next break, I wash a few more. By the time my show ends, the kitchen is clear and I never felt like I had to “do all the washing up.”
I do the same with other chores. When the adverts run, I make the bed, put away laundry, or sweep a corner of the floor. Little by little, the work gets done.
I even use ad breaks for movement. I’ll walk 250 steps around the room, drop into a plank position for as long as I can, or stretch on my mat. Nothing big. Nothing forced. Just something.
That’s momentum. Small, consistent action, repeated in little pockets of time, adds up in a way that surprises you. I never feel like chores or exercise are overwhelming because I have woven them into something I already do like watching TV.
And at the end of the night, I have not only enjoyed my programme, but I have also created progress without even noticing it. Of course I always make sure I log in somewhere. In my journal or as part of my tracker. The "evidence" mounts up to prove to me I am a person who gets things done and stays consistent.
